aligncenterlenovo x201 review

Why is it our TOP PICK?

Ok, we know it doesn’t cost $900, (it’s around $1600, but click here to find out the exact price, you might find it at a discounted price ), but you get the most powerful CPU – i7-620LM, 350 GB hard drive plus a great build quality comparing to other tablets. The Lenovo X201 has made some major improvements to a screen’s saturation, contrast and viewing angles comparing to x201 ThinkPad. The backlight brightness is plenty bright measuring 182cd/m2 at its brightest point also fantastic for outdoors.

It is the most powerful tablet on the market. Great performance benchmark scores. Pre-loaded Professional version of Windows 7 – essential for multitouch applications which is not available on the Windows 7 basic version. Anti-glare screen, which is great for designers, etc. The Lenovo ThinkPad X201 has a capacitive touchscreen – great for taking notes (with WACOM stylus) and multitouch. If you ever used an iphone or an ipod vs regular touch screen phone then you know the difference. It’s very responsive. Unfortunately the Lenovo X201 tablet pc has integrated graphics which limits you from playing games in high resolution comparing to HP TM2T which is a clear winner in this category. What you get instead is a great battery life, great performance and a multitouch.

PROS:

- great battery life
- great performance
- solid build quality
- outdoor Screen
- extremely responsive to finger and stylus

CONS:

- integrated Graphics

hp touchscreen tm2t review

This HP touchsmart TM2T is packed with some decent hardware. The 1.20 GHz (i5-430UM) processor is capable of overclocking itself when doing hard task calculations using its turbo boost otpion rising up to 1.73GHz. Our version of TM2T costs about $1600, but if you degrade to 6 GB’s of RAM and 500 GB’s of hardrive then you’ll save around $400. Here’s the actual price of HP TM2T

“On the go” the HP tablet uses an integrated graphics, but when you plug in into an external power source, the tm2t uses the faster ATI HD 5450 Radeon graphics, which let’s you play 3D games. You won’t get slowed down while multi tasking with its 8 GB’s of RAM plus you get 640 GB of storage space. The multitouch screen is very responsive. The entire system runs fairly cool. The only drawback of tm2t is its glossy screen and no optical drive. So as you can see the HP tm2t is very well packed for about the same price as Lenovo x201. If a glossy screen, and no DVD drive isn’t a problem for you then you won’t be dissapointed with the 2nd best performer so far.

PROS

- 8 GB’s of RAM
- large hard drive
- switchable graphics
- extremely responsive to finger and stylus

CONS

- weak viewing angles
- no optical drive

aligncenterS10-lenovo best tablet review

With S10-3t you don’t have to choose between a netbook or a standalone tablet. Just swivel around its 10.1″ multitouch display and it turns into a tablet you’ve been looking for. It’s half the price of the top two models we had reviewed ( click here to view current price of S10-3t ). It has fantastic design, great 10 hour battery.

The Multitouch experience on a 1024×600 resolution, which is ideal for 10.1 screen is pretty responsive. You can use both hands or the stylus. S10-3t tablet has an Atom N450 Processing unit which has 3410 integrated graphics which is able to render the HD content (blue ray) where the 945GSE can’t.

However, the $600 savings over the two top models has it’s price. It has a glossy screen with poor angles, and no optical drive. Other than that it’s the best looking tablet with real keyboard.

PROS:

- great battery life
- modern design
- solid build quality
- extremely responsive to finger and stylus

aligncenterfujitsu lifebook t730 review

Fujitsu lifebook t730 comes in two packages. The pricier t730 model, comes with a very fast processing unit Intel i5-520, Integrated HD graphics, 160 gb hard drive & 2gb of RAM. As you can see from our comparison tables on your right, it’s an average unit except for a powerful CPU and descent HD integrated graphics.

It’s also the most expensive tablet PC in our review. To get your hands on Lifebook t730 you’d have to pay around $1,700 (click here to find out the exact price, you might find it at a discounted price ). The unit comes with a DVD+-RW. You must notice that there is a limited amount of pc tablets that come with optical drive.

- However, just about the same t730 tablet with a CPU downgrade to i3-350 ( between 4th & 5th place in our CPU test ) costs only around $1299 ( clik here to find out the exact price, you might find it at a discounted price ), so for some this might be a good choice

Asus Eee PC T101MTAsus Eee PC T101MT review

The next two models have very similar specifications in favor of gigabyte T1000P whereas longer lasting 8 hour battery, more storage and 1266×768 vs 1024×600 screen resolution. All that except for the price and looks. If those two downgrade factors will beat $450 then go for it (click here to find out the exact price).

T101MT is a solid and better looking pc tablet than T1000P with a solid ergonomic, performance and sturdy feel. We’re happy that Asus decided to go with matte, 10.1 display rather than glossy. As for the touch experience you could get a little frustrated when using fingers, but when you reach for the stylus things get a little better. You also need to remember that Windows 7 Starter edition does support touchscreen, but it doesn’t support multitouch and handwriting recognitions. So after you make your purchase just go online and upgrade your windows to home premium for about $50 to gain the support package.

Although it’s unbelievably cheap you can’t expect to work with the HD content without any hick ups, but deffinitely worth the price for basic office work.

PROS

- great budget buy
- long battery life
- matte screen

CONS

- Windows 7 Starter
- weak viewing angles
- no optical drive
- resistive touchscreen

toshiba libretto featuresllibretto-w100 review

Libretto W100 has an innovative glossy 7-inch 1024×600 capacitive, glass (hard to scratch) dualscreen, which will surely turn heads. The 62GB solid state hard drive is faster then all the hard drives in our test and what’s really nice, Toshiba decided to go with a Windows 7 Home Premium, so you can take advantage of touchscreen and handwriting recognition. The physical keyboard is replaced with a multi-function 108-key vibration keyboard (that you can use from any of the two screen), so you can actually feel the typing experience.

Toshiba Libretto W100 has a webcam, usb 2.0 port, a SD slot and no ethernet connectivity. On the downside the W100 costs around $1100 (click here to find out the exact price, you might find a discount) and its 8-cell battery will last for only up to 4 hours. It’s a good idea to purchase additional batttery if you have a long flight ahead of you. Toshiba’s software works great and is the most friendly on a PC Tablet so far.

Overall, it’s a nice, small gadget to carry around with descent specifications.

PROS

aligncenterArchos 9 review

This is the only IPad looking PC Tablet with a Windows 7 operating system so far. It’s stylish, has a great build quality and has a sensitive touchscreen. Costs around $500 but click here to find out the exact price

Unfortunately it has a slow processing unit, a bit too slow to run Windows 7 smoothly, and gets sluggish when running a couple of applications stimultaneously – you can also blame the non upgradable 1 GB of RAM. Archos 9 is not going to fit in a purse measuring 10″x5″. The battery will last for about 5 hours which is not bad, and you get about 60 GBs of storage, which makes this PC Tablet a great travel companion. We placed the Archos 9 PC Tablet at the bottom of our table because of performance issues comparing to other PC tablets in test, but will do its job for standard office work.
